What is a rivet and Burr?
Rivet Burrs are made to be used with rivets of all types. Our selection of burrs are designed to handle copper, brass, and leather rivets. Burrs have tighter inside diameters than typical washers to fit tightly on rivets of different sizes. Burrs are positioned over the rivet shank.
Are double cap rivets strong?
Our rapid rivets are the most widely used for most applications by leather workers. For dog collars, we use the double cap rivets which are even stronger than the rapid rivets.
Why do my rivets keep bending?
Make sure your stem isn’t too long. Instead of the stem closing around itself, it will slip and bend diagonally making it so your rivets don’t actually close and the caps no longer line up. There’s two easy fixes for having too long of stems. You can either cut them and shorten them to the correct length.
