Can you take scooters to Dubbo Zoo?
A guest must enter via a public entrance and, where applicable, pay the entrance fee and car parking fee. A guest is not permitted to bring into the Zoo any animal; animal costume; ball; balloon; bicycle (Taronga Zoo Sydney), scooter, skateboard, roller blades or similar apparatus; alcohol or illegal substance.
How long does it take to cycle the Dubbo zoo?
Most people take a day (about 8 hours), but it is free to return the next day and we did. You could ride the bikes one day, that’s my preferred option and then take a quick drive the next day.

Why did Dubbo Zoo open?
It opened to the public on 28 February 1977, to provide more living and breeding space for large animals such as elephants and antelopes which needed more space than was available at the restricted Sydney site.

Is it safe to stay in Dubbo?
Dubbo is fine to stay at and just as safe as any large regional city. It’s not as if you are going to be out clubbing or drinking to all hours anyway. The only problem you would be likely to be victim of is somebody breaking into your motor vehicle.
