Are most vets USDA accredited?
All of our veterinarians are accredited by the USDA to issue Health Certificates. Most airlines require that the Health Certificate be issued within 10 days of travel. The Health Certificate must be prepared by a USDA accredited veterinarian (all of our veterinarians have obtained this accreditation).
Does Arizona require a health certificate for dogs?
For pets, both international and domestic travel often require an official CVI (certificate of veterinary inspection)–also referred to as a health certificate. We recommend that you print all pertinent information and forms and bring these to all appointments for your pet prior to your travel day.
What do USDA veterinarians do?
They promote animal welfare through the provision of adequate veterinary care and by overseeing the animal care and use program. Facilities are required to ensure that their attending veterinarian has the authority to direct the animal care and use program.
What is a USDA health certificate?
Health certificates are issued (completed, signed, and dated) by a local veterinarian who examines the pet and performs (or verifies) all required testing, vaccinations, or treatments. If the pet traveling is a bird, the veterinarian facilitating the shipment must be a Category II USDA Accredited Veterinarian.
