A pro fashion portfolio typically contains 25-30 looks, but no one will expect a fledgling designer to have quite so many. Also, don’t forget to showcase your process by including your original design sketches and fabric swatches.

Why are fashion illustrations not included in Ma portfolios?
On the MA at St. Martins, the course director thought everyone’s illustrations were “shit” – her words – and only one of us was allowed to include proper fashion illustrations in our portfolio. The rest of us managed to make beautiful portfolios without them, proof that it is possible.)
